Easy Vegan French Toast

One of my absolute favorite treats when going out to a vegan restaurant is vegan french toast. Unfortunately, I do not go out to eat often, so I don't have it as much as I would like. The other evening, my parents decided that they would make french toast for themselves and my brother, so I decided to look online to see if I could find a vegan french toast recipe. I found this recipe from PETA (I have adapted it slightly), and I couldn't be happier with how great it came out!

Vegan French Toast

  • 1 cup soy milk
  • 2 tbsp whole-wheat flour
  • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast flakes
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • pinch nutmeg
  • pinch cinnamon
  • 6 slices of your choice of bread

  1.  Mix all ingredients together (except for the bread) in a shallow bowl.
  2. Dip the bread in the mixture and cook on a griddle or pan (spray first) until golden brown on both sides (flipping in between).
  3. Enjoy with your favorite toppings!

  1. I am a huge fan of both Earth Balance and nutritional yeast. I'll have to try this!

  2. Yum! That little pich of cinnamon is surely welcome ! (I LOVE cinnamon)

    1. I would suggest a little bit more than a pinch, then...I'm not much of a fan of cinnamon.

  3. Thanks for this recipe! I am always on the lookout for vegan recipes.
