First of all, I want to thank all of you for your sweet comments on my last post. Nearly everyone in my hometown has their power back. We did not have nearly as severe effects from the storm as the NJ/NY area did.

Tumblr Tuesday #6

So it appears that I survived Sandy! My poor parents have been without power for 24 hours now, and it will probably be quite some time until they get it back. My school never lost power and whatever damage done to trees and whatnot seems to have been cleared up already. I did have to go on a big detour to get to the doctor's office today. Reason number 829 why I could use a smartphone: so I don't panic when the roads are blocked and no detour signs are put up.

Based on the title of this post, I think it is safe to say that most of you will get what this costume is! That's right, Miss Britney Spears in her first music video, ...Baby One More Time.

If only I had bangs. I think that would have made it better. What do you think about my costume?

Last night was the first night of my Halloweekend festivities. We held a party in my house, where I dressed up as a butterfly fairy princess (it was very last minute). Tonight there is a school-wide mixer. I can't wait for you all to see my costume! I'm keeping it a surprise until then.

New Glasses!

So a few weeks ago, I bought a new pair of glasses, and I finally got around to taking some photos of them this weekend!

This Is What a Vegan Eats #2

Just a few things I picked up at the grocery store recently. I also bought some soy "yogurt" that I managed to eat all of before photographing (typical Melissa).

1. Ener-G Egg Replacer (aka the staple of any vegan baking when using a non-vegan recipe)
2. sunflower seeds
3. Nature's Path organic pumpkin flax granola (the only problem I have with this granola is that the flax is not ground so you do not get all the health benefits from it)
4. Craisins
5. burrito size flour tortillas
6. tortilla chips (a staple in my diet - I love making nachos with lots of beans and toppings)
7. chocolate creme Newman-O's (guilty pleasure)
8. salted peanuts
9. cinnamon Teddy Grahams (another guilty pleasure)
